You will see Maasai herdsmen tending to their cattle amid the wildlife when you visit the Ngorongoro Crater and the conservation area surrounding it, which is renowned for its Big 5 game viewing. Following that, a brief charter flight will transport you to the Serengeti, where you can experience first-rate wildlife sightings while staying at a mobile camp that travels across the savannah with the migrating wildebeest and zebra herds.
After a week of exploring the wilderness, you’ll take a flight to Zanzibar’s highly sought-after northeast coast, where you’ll stay at Matemwe Lodge and take part in a variety of activities, such as relaxation and spa services. Couples and honeymooners seeking to relax after a safari adventure will find it to be the perfect destination because of this. With breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar’s sandy beaches, the trip promises to be a special and worthwhile experience.
Itinerary
When you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a tour representative will greet you and take you on a one-hour drive to Rivertrees Country Inn.This hotel offers breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and is situated at the base of Mount Meru. The swimming pool and lovely gardens now stand where a coffee plantation once stood. There are also birds and monkeys there. You will stay in a garden cottage with an en suite bathroom that has a shower and a bathtub and is modern and straightforward in design. There are spa services available, and Wi-Fi is offered without charge.
You will take your guide, who will be driving the car, on a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area after breakfast at Rivertrees. There are cattle and Maasai herders in this area, which is a sizable grassland area with a variety of wildlife. Before reaching Gibb’s Farm, a farm that raises dairy and coffee, you will have a packed lunch. Your cottage lodging includes a bathtub, a living area with a fireplace, and both indoor and outdoor showers. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing, getting pampered, or discovering the neighborhood through pursuits like nature hikes, community outings, or bird-watching excursions. The Big 5 animals—the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo—can be seen on a full-day safari the following day in the Ngorongoro Crater.
As the wildebeest migrate across the Serengeti plains, Olakira Camp, a compact and welcoming tented camp, follows them. For a few months every year, this camp is spread out over two different locations, allowing visitors to get a close-up look at the drama of the wildlife. In the Ndutu region, visitors can see wildebeest giving birth, while in the northern location, they can see herds crossing the Mara River, which is teeming with crocodiles. In the mornings and afternoons, guests can take part in game drives to look for the impressive wildlife of the Serengeti, and they can unwind by the campfire at night while exchanging sightings-related tales.
You fly to Zanzibar and check into Matemwe Lodge on the island’s northeastern coast. Your day begins with breakfast in the Serengeti and ends with dinner while you are overlooking the Indian Ocean. You have the option to unwind or take part in a variety of activities at this lodge, including kayaking, snorkeling, and 5-star diving at the Mnemba Atoll. You can reserve tours to Jozani Forest and Stone Town, as well as take a sunset dhow cruise, at the lodge. It also has a spa and provides Internet access. A private veranda with a hammock and a couch is available to you in your suite, which is located in a gorgeous garden.
After breakfast at Matemwe Lodge, your tour comes to an end as you are driven back to the island’s Abeid Amani Karume International Airport to make arrangements for your subsequent flights.
